does anyone have this camera that can give any comments on it?

I did have this camera for over a year, purchased back when it was about $230.00 on sale. I always got good shots with it, all the way up to dropping it when taking a photo in the Air & Space Museum. That ended it's career with me. I probably would still be using it if that hadn't happened. I replaced it with a DSC-V1.

thanks. is the movie mode pretty decent for short clips?

well i read Steve's digicams. looks like a pretty good camera according to him and the sample pictures look good. i think i'm going to get it unless someone knows of a better camera that will be on sale on Black Friday :D . i need to look for a deal on a bigger memory stick though..

I'm not big on cameras. I have no real knowledge. Anyone know the difference between this camera and the DSC-P52 3.2MP which is going for 129.99 at Circuit City?

differences:

DSC P72 - 3.2MP - 1.6" viewfinder - 3x optical zoom
DSC P52 - 3.2MP - 1.5" viewfinder - 2x optical zoom

MP = megapixels (millions of pixels). more pixels (dots) means that your image is better quality.

viewfinder is the tiny lcd screen on the back that you look at your images on. a bigger one is nicer

optical zoom is how far the lens in the camera can zoom in before it begins to use digital zoom. digital zoom doesn't mean much, because it deteriorates the quality of your picture when you use it. Ex: a picture taken with a 3mp camera will not utilize all 3 megapixels, instead it will simply cut out a portion of your 3MP image to get just what you want. overall, more optical zoom is good, more digital zoom is cool to have, but not very useful.

they're all sold out in my area...does anyone know if they have it in their area and would help me out?

I got this camera a couple of summers ago for ~$320. It takes great pictures and decent movie clips with sound.
