We've all head of some stupid lawsuits, such as the woman that got her lap burned after ordering hot coffee from McDonalds.

I thought I'd start with this one. It's dumb because the parent is blaming MySpace to watch over her child instead of her.

Here is a run down of contenders for the Stella Award:

 These two ate my favorites:

-Amber Carson of Lancaster, Pennsylvania who was awarded $113,000 from a Philadelphia restaurant when she slipped on a floor wet from a soft drink and broke her tailbone. How did the floor get wet? She threw the soft drink at her boyfriend (ex-boyfriend?) in a fit of anger 2.30 seconds before slipping...

-Kathleen Robertson of Austin Texas benefited $780,000 and medical expenses for tripping over a toddler in a furniture store. It made no difference that it was her own kid.

oh god i hate these stupid lawsuits. like horribly. it just reminds me of human's nature of greediness.

I agree! How can a judge in his right mind even begin to THINK about awarding these people any money at all, when they are clearly, clearly out for money. If I was the judge, these people AND their lawyer would be in jail!
Just my :money:

Well I work for a large department store and I know like a lot of other large companies they will offer these people a settlement rather than going to court so I guess people like this figure it's worth a shot.

It would not even cross my mind to sue the store if i tripped over my own kid!!!! I should have been watching him/her.... BUT we do have a local furniture store that offers babysitting while you shop SO if they were not watching the child properly than there would be a cause... I guess....
