I like this part: "When you use a Target reusable bag ten times, you’ll keep 25 plastic bags out of landfills."
That is great except for the fact that you have to actually use it something like 200 times before the extra carbon footprint of manufacturing the resuable bag is offset by the benefits of not using a plastic bag. (Even more if you are one of the many people who reuse the plastic bags anyway)
Since those canvas bags, especially the freebies or really cheap ones, rarely last more than a year or two, they cause more harm than good to the environment.
