It's getting to be that time of the year and Babs and I are in the spirit already. Our tree:

It isn't even thanksgiving yet! Can't we get through one holiday without having to worry about the next?

Regardless of time of year, I do not put up a tree. I do not celebrate christmas, although the rest of my family does.

That first one Squelch is my FAVORITE!!!!!!
It was in Ohio and they had to shut it down after awhile because the traffic was so bad!
Being a musician I truly appreciate how he timed the music with the lights! :bigok:
Ok.....I am off to find the lights now.......
 
Well, it doesn't mean I'm not interested in how people decorate the tree! You don't have to be mean about it. :bitter: :mad:

I'm no Scrooge, I enjoy the holidays, I eat the big meal, etc. I just don't do the presents or the tree or that stuff. I go to my parents' house and spend the day with family. I watch my nephew open his gifts and everything, I even give him one (he wouldn't understand why if I didn't).

Ah!.....so you are the free-loader who eats till the burst, complains, accepts the presents and throws the token gift???? :clown:

Take it easy...I'm not a big 'holiday fan' myself :rolleyes:, but I certainly don't want to rain on anyone else's parade....;)

Relax...maybe someday you'll get bit by the bug yourself.....'til then..smile knowing that at least others can enjoy and 'feel the love'....Happy Holidays! :)

I don't do the tree either. But I do enjoy looking at people's trees. I think i'm just lazy. I do go all out for giving gifts though. People celebrate in different ways. I dont think you need to get a bug. :hug:
 
I went to the store today to pick up a few things for Thursday....and you can feel the buzz in the air. I love that! :like:
We are putting up our tree this weekend....actually 2 trees!!!!!!! Maybe I will post a pic of it.....maybe I will be in the pic too!!!!!!

what is this 'bug' exactly? conformity?

we enjoy the holidays differently every year depending on who we spend it with or where we go. sometime we have a tree, sometimes we dont, but they are nice to see.
 
I love the pics of the christmas trees. My family will be putting ours up this weekend. I will post of pic of it when we get done.
 
I actually don't buy into the commercialism myself; in fact it makes me angry, the way kids are manipulated by Madison Avenue into greed, and the false expectations that 'things' will make them happy, or that gifts = love.

I do not practice what I believe at all, I can't resist getting sucked into the hype, it's just too much fun for me to go nuts with the presents like everyone else.

I really respect anyone who stands firm to their principles and bucks the brainwashing. I've totally caved.

I totally go crazy w/ the gifts cause Amber is my only one, but if I got her only one gift...I know she would still be happy. I am having her cousin over this weekend and we are going to make paper snowflakes and put up the tree. :teeth:
