I am originally from Michigan. So as I was reading the Orlando Sentinel this morning in a section called Today in History,it brought up a something that happened back in 1987.
Today, back in August 16,1987, Northwest Airlines Flight 255 took off from Detroit Metro airport and crashed moments after takeoff, killing everyone on board, except for a 4 year old little girl.
Does anyone remember this horrible accident?

Very sad, but it is amazing that the 4 year old girl survived.

Yes,very sad. There is a video on You Tube,a five part video series that goes through the account of the accident and what NTSB investigators found.Very interesting. It was pilot and co-pilot error. They didn't go through the taxi checkoff and wanted to leave before thunderstorms hit and so they didn't put the flaps up,and the rest is unfortunate.
