SmartMoney.com has a good article on when to buy .. everything

Airplane Tickets - Wedneday, 21 Days before flight
Appliances - During a holiday weekend
Baby Clothes - During your pregnancy
Broadway Tickets - Hours before the curtain rises
Cars - Weekday mornings in September (maybe even the last week)
Campagne - December
Clothing - Thursday evenings, 6-8 weeks after an item arrives
Computer and Electronics - Just after a new model is launched
Gas - Early morning or late evenings on a weekday
Groceries - Sunday evenings
Plants, Trees - Fall
TV - 6-12 months after a particular model is launched
Wedding Dress - between Thanksgiving and Christmas
Wine - Early Fall

That's the right time to buy a car..........I got my 03 Malibu
on 9-30-03 the last day of the $4,750 rebate and they were
hungry to make a deal.

MSRP was $18,500 and I paid $12,300 + tax, tags, etc.

Thanks for giving the car away GM.

Some of these are pretty right on like say the cars, computers, airline tickets ect

gas is sooo true, if prices are on the rise you need to buy at night as most gas stations change prices either late at night or first thing in the morning. Works the exact opposite if they are falling, wait till the next morning

I'm not too sure on their grocery idea typically you'd want to wait till monday morning or wed morning{wed is when sales usually start so tue is a big restocking day} for the freshest products, not wait till sunday night for the old junk thats been sitting around.
 
Some of it's obvious, but the list does not nearly include everything. Grocery shopping on late Sunday afternoon/evening is usually nice and quiet.
 
:) I buy all my kid's clothes the season before when it is on clearance. I get everything so cheap. If you go to Gap on a Thursday, that is when you will get the best clearance deal. They mark down their prices on Thursday's.

Never go on Saturday. Everything on sale is picked over.

Places like Meijer that run ads from Sun - Sat.

That's how the stores in Western NY ran their ads too. I like that much better than the Wed thru Tues here in NC.

If you live in a town with a football team and they are playing, Sunday is even better for grocery shopping as all eyes are tuned to the game.
