I have had the good fortune of visiting these forums for over a year now. Met some dynamic and interesting folks along the way, and, grabbed many a useful freebie. However, I have taken due note, that several folks feel a compunction to maliciously correct other posters spelling and grammar, or choice of thread content. I for one often "type faster than I think" usually carrying out five things at once. As such, I personally make a sundry of mistakes. If anyone feels a need to pull up my threads, past and present, and, send me the corrections for my next Doctoral Thesis on the Psychology of Spoofee.com, please feel free to contact me anytime. It will save my having to pay a professional Editor!

Otherwise, come on folks, leave out the nasty displays of idiotic commentary by picking on another person's postings. Who here really knows if English may be that poster's second language? Not to state that it makes the person slinging the criticism nothing more than a cyber bully, and, who on here wants THAT title?!?! When I first started here, the "tone and flavor" was so much more supportive and laid back, humorous without hurt, than what is occurring of late? Also many of the regular posters have taken leave, taken a break, or have left for good. I can only speak for myself, but if I were new to these forums, and, read some of the comments and zings, I would never come out of "lurking mode." If you don't care for a poster's thread, or find it of interest, keep on going. Or PM them with your grammar corrections and comments, don't feel you have the right to insult them within their own thread. I do know for a fact that some of these people are more sensitive and take these comments to heart. Me personally, nah. Some of these folks are merely going to clam up, and, fade away. How sad would that be to loose some our friends?! We have lost enough of them already. :( So ease it up folks and frankly, find something more constructive to do with your time. Since I am from a different generation what is it the younger folks say now...GET A LIFE?!?!?! :mmph:

Now....off to read the Dictionary and Little Brown's Grammar Handbook so when I get tons of hate mail I know how to document it in my next thesis and give credit where credit is due. Don't want to run the risk of misquoting anyone. :convinced:

Your second sentence is a run-on one. :p

Exactly why I'm leery of posting too often!

Don't be leary, rather know that your comments, ideas and fresh threads will be well received. As my Grandmother use to say "Let dried up tumbleweeds blow right past you!" Rags

Amen and thank you for bringing this to attention.

I ASKED one of the "GRAMMAR POLICE" a question with reference as to why they feel the need to rudely point out grammar mistakes. But this person is a coward and decided they did not want to answer my valid question.

There is no need to rudely correct and put down others for something so trivial and stupid.

As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. (Prov. 27:17)

It is one thing to be petty... and another to truly want to help. I would just think that most people out there are trying to build you up rather than tear you down. At least that's the way I want to look at it... whatever their original intentions might have been.

Plus...
All you have to do is use three ... together and you can get away with anything... it just looks like a wandering thought... which is what most of my posts are anyway...

"Dispute not about what is not your concern, in the strife of the arrogant take no part." (Sirach 11:9)

I understand your line of thinking Tigger. But, some folks are a bit more gentle of heart, and, sensitive. There are two kinds of posters that I have seen over the past year...those that are braver, and can handle the barbs and criticisms, and, those that take a chance, post, and, are uneasy over the same often fading away after a few attempts. Many have often felt "unwelcomed" and elected to leave. Nope, I am not one to give rent free space to "dots on the screen."

Most teachers and psychologists will tell you that if you want to build up another, or ellict a change in negative behaviors, then stress their strengths and positive aspects. The old adage of "You can catch more flies with honey" probably applies. You have never, never, never put me in the mind of a person who would intentionally injure or maliciously attack another.
 :)

Hey, I've got an idea. How about if someone with moderator privileges were just to delete any post which corrects another post's errors in grammar, spelling, or diction. Then everyone would be happy, and the world would be a beautiful place.

Not that I am very knowledgable, but I do believe they already monitor the threads and will perhaps take your suggestion into consideration. I do believe New Orleans is a beautiful place, and, I should like to visit one day. :) ;)

You know, I understand that my memory is not what it use to be, but for the life of me I cannot recall the proper Blue Cross and Blue Shield Insurance code for hair removal!?!?:convinced: Would a "Brazillian Waxing" work?!?!?!
 LOL LOL LOL You two guys are a mess! :)

Thanks, that means a lot coming from you.......

I am yawning too, late night last night.....   raining, dreary, and, cold here today. Just a great day to yawn, curl up , and, nap! :)

I have a different take on all of this...

I don't care if i make mistakes with my grammer - spelling or whatever.

This is a web site. nothing posted here is going to change the world.

We are all cyber friends (and some have made the jump to real life).

My philosophy is simple:

"Life is too short to listen to someone who doesn't know when to shut up."

And to the Grammer Nazi - Get a life, a hobby or significant other.
