I have had the good fortune of visiting these forums for over a year now. Met some dynamic and interesting folks along the way, and, grabbed many a useful freebie. However, I have taken due note, that several folks feel a compunction to maliciously correct other posters spelling and grammar, or choice of thread content. I for one often "type faster than I think" usually carrying out five things at once. As such, I personally make a sundry of mistakes. If anyone feels a need to pull up my threads, past and present, and, send me the corrections for my next Doctoral Thesis on the Psychology of Spoofee.com, please feel free to contact me anytime. It will save my having to pay a professional Editor!
Otherwise, come on folks, leave out the nasty displays of idiotic commentary by picking on another person's postings. Who here really knows if English may be that poster's second language? Not to state that it makes the person slinging the criticism nothing more than a cyber bully, and, who on here wants THAT title?!?! When I first started here, the "tone and flavor" was so much more supportive and laid back, humorous without hurt, than what is occurring of late? Also many of the regular posters have taken leave, taken a break, or have left for good. I can only speak for myself, but if I were new to these forums, and, read some of the comments and zings, I would never come out of "lurking mode." If you don't care for a poster's thread, or find it of interest, keep on going. Or PM them with your grammar corrections and comments, don't feel you have the right to insult them within their own thread. I do know for a fact that some of these people are more sensitive and take these comments to heart. Me personally, nah. Some of these folks are merely going to clam up, and, fade away. How sad would that be to loose some our friends?! We have lost enough of them already. So ease it up folks and frankly, find something more constructive to do with your time. Since I am from a different generation what is it the younger folks say now...GET A LIFE?!?!?! :mmph:
Now....off to read the Dictionary and Little Brown's Grammar Handbook so when I get tons of hate mail I know how to document it in my next thesis and give credit where credit is due. Don't want to run the risk of misquoting anyone. :convinced:
