Toshiba 20AF44 20" Flat Television For $176.50 Shipped Free

Amazon has the Toshiba 20AF44 20" flat television for a good price, especially with free shipping and no tax for most of us.

1. Amazon Price : $176.50
Final Price : $176.50

That's a really nice price. Maybe today I'll think about whether I want one for my bedroom, it would be nice to get rid of my WinTV card.

The 44 is the new model of Toshiba, I remember that they were selling the 43 a while back. I picked up two 20A43's that weren't flat for $160 at BestBuy for my girlfriend's beach place, and even they're a really nice TV, so this one must be great. Maybe I'll treat myself. :)

I just ordered one, figured I would treat myself. A nice TV is a good thing to spend $175 on, and to tell you the truth, I could use it too!

I'll let you know how it is.

i think nowadays 20 inches is a little too small considering that monitors are usually 17" or more...

I actually own this TV, and wrote that review you see on Amazon. Though 20" might be small to some, it works good in my small dorm. Questions about it feel free to e-mail me [email protected]

The one about the 10 year old Toshiba? I just read it. 20" is small, but it is really all that I need as my room is fairly small and I really don't have much more space since my computer takes it all, so this TV will be perfect for me.

dmbfan4me, do you have any idea what updates the 20AF44 has over the 20AF43?

Are you asking me about my previous, almost antique Toshiba. Well I will let you know that it has fake wood panelling and the reason why it was going out is through the RCA inputs on the back of the TV. I believe the coax connection was fine for sound and video.
Anyway about my new TV, I could not determine any significant differences between the 20AF44 and the 20AF43. Both have 3-line digital comb filter and Vertical Contour Correction, colorStream component, Front AV, SAP and BBE. My only reasoning for their month long upgrade, when you could not buy a 20 or 24" Toshiba flatscreen that was new (trust me I looked everywhere), was because other companys like Sony, Philips, etc. upragded their TV's. I guess that is just what happens every year. I was planning on buying the 20A43, then one day Amazon took it down from selling it new. Hope that clears some things up, without making it to confusing.

Yeah, I always knew about the 43. I have no idea what the 44 has that is new, but at least it is the new model for a great price. Anyone have any idea when Amazon will ship? I ordered last night at around 5PM. I was hoping for shipment today so maybe it will come Monday? I'm excited, and this will work great with my Toshiba SD-3800 Progressive DVD player, my girlfriend is picking up the component cables for me today. ;)

Thanks for the feedback. I'll let you know how I like it.

Is this just a flat CRT? The pic qand description make it look like a panel, not a big bulky CRT. Thanks for any info.

Yes its just a flat CRT. Flat screen, not flat panel. :)

Yes, the Toshiba link on the 20AF43 will explain the 44, they're the same thing I think, the 44 is updated, we don't know what it is.

This TV will give you a great picture. On smaller TVs, you really can't beat the quality and reliability of a flat CRT TV, as long as you have a good space for it.

I'm hoping mine ships out today.

Yes, & how would they watch the tv if they don't have any electricity?

Yah it is a CRT, 59 pounder. The shipping for me (the free amazon shipping) only took like 4 business days. It shipped from Nevada, and I am here in Oregon.
So Erik, I am sure you will get it sooner than what Amazon says.
One thing I am not certain of, but can examine from the pics I have seen of both the 43 and 44 is that the 44 looks like it has a darker gray panneling around it. But who knows all the exact details of the two's differences.

dmbfan4me, I agree with you about the casing, might just be the picture though. Thanks a lot for giving me the feedback! Can't wait to get the set.

I have the 27AF44 and it is a great tv. Granted I spent about 3 times what this one is going for and got only 7" extra, but I got it a while back! Anyway the entire line of these Toshiba's are great. Nice picture, nice sound quality, and plenty of Video in/outs as well as Component Video and S-Video capability. I have absolutely nocomplaints, and neither will any of you! (If you get it of course! :) )

Erik, So let me know what you think of the TV when you get it. Yah I am only basing the color of the paneling on the pics I see of Amazon. I have not seen the 43 with my own eyes, becuase Circuit City, the only half-way decent electronic store around here, does not carry Toshiba TV's. They are lame.

Yeah, I hate them for that, and I've noticed it. Toshiba just has an equal or higher level of quality than Sony, and they're priced a lot cheaper. I'm really happy with the deal I got on this TV, I can't wait to get it, but thanks a lot, and hope to see you around some more! Great to have you as a member!

Thanks for your insight. I'll let you know how I like it!

Hey your welcome, I like consulting people on electronics. I actually check out spoofee quite a lot so maybe I will start posting more and submitting stuff. I have to edit my profile and get one of those cool John Kerry aviators like you. My whole family has these Toshiba's and I have previously owned a little 13" Sony, which ended up dying after owning it for 3 years. So I do recomend Toshiba over Sony, as far as most of the electronics these 2 companys make.

Erik, By the way, check out that link underneath my signature, I am sure you will like it.
