Toshiba SD-H400 80HR Tivo/DVD Player (Includes TIVO Basic) $200 shipped

How loud is the unit? I hear the fan can be loud. And do you know how long this deal will last, or is it permanent?

The fan is not really loud, maybe about the same way a PC fan would be. You can sometimes here the disk spinning also. But I don't think it is anything out of the ordinary. The deal will probablly only last a week, like most of them do.

Here is a little more info about the unit itself

Do'h, outta stock. This was really hot, compared to almost 300 at other places.

Do you think circuit city would pricematch this if I showed them the ad?

Normally they call to verify stock. The price match policies are usually only done if the competitor has the item in stock. :(

It accepted my order even though it showed out of stock. I selected store pickup and I just received a email confirming I can pick it up at the local store.

I'll check it out in store. BTW, Choochoojr, with this device, can I record a show and use the timeslip features such as pause live tv, at the same time?

No, because when recording you cannot watch anyother channel, besides the one your recording. The only way to record one show and watch another, without the timeslip features though is to buy a signal splitter and run one signal directly to your television. And then you can control the channels from you TV not your TIVO.

Hope that explains it for ya. :)
