Sorry this is so long, but I have to vent to someone.
My family and I went on a wonderful trip to Niagara Falls this past week and took US Airlines. We decided to do this so my husband could work today even though it took about 12 hours to get there driving.
The trip to Buffalo was uneventful and had a very pleasant trip. Boy how things could change. When my husband booked the flight on Travelocity, he did not realize that we only had a 30 minute layover at Reagen National. So he begins to warn us yesterday that the plane will probably be late and we will be stuck in Buffalo for another night. I am thinking yeah, right. Like that could happen. So we get to the gate and they inform us that the plane that we were supposed to be on is delayed in Philadelphia. So you know what that means. We were to miss the flight to Raleigh Durham. I even asked the person at the gate if we could just get a rental car in DC and drive to RDU airport and then drive home. He did say that this probably would not work.
So we go to the ticket counter and it took them an hour to say that we are on standby for Philadelphia and then to RDU. They also went ahead and booked us for a flight at 6:00 this morning.
So we did not get on the flight to Philadelphia. By this time, we had spent 6 hours at Buffalo airport and I just wanted to go to sleep. So when we finally found a hotel, it was another $120.
This morning at Buffalo the ticket agent that asssited us yesterday did not put our reservations in correctly so this took an additional 45 minutes for her to actually find my husbands reservation. So I am getting a little ticked off by this time. The good news is that we are back home and safe. But we are going to think twice the next time we fly. It seems really weird that the flight from Philadelphia to Buffalo is late 60 percent of the time.
By the way, Snibble took wonderful care of our dog and chickens and our new baby chicks that hatched while we were gone!:claps:
