Verizon DSL - $14.95/month + 1st Month Free

Verizon Online DSL is offering DSL service ( Up to 768 Kbps/128 Kbps ) for only $14.95 / month + first month free. One year commitment required. A $19.95 shipping and activation charge will apply to each DSL order.

Sign up through Dell instead of directly on the Verizon site, you can also get a $100 rebate on this service. Link Here (The link brings you to the $29.95 Verizon area but if you click "verify availability" it brings you to the $14.95 area -- if your number is reachable that is.) -- thanks to TheRingWraithe for this info!

Of note, current customers paying more have been successful in getting the price reduced to $14.95. Just read the comments. Offer good until 10/31/05.

I have their DSL service, was paying $26.95, my year was about up; I told them I'd stick around if they gave me that deal OR I was going back to cable. They gave me the deal, no problem. :bigok:

I installed this package for an elderly lady for which it would be perfect for what she needs to do.

It was a mess. The line was running at dial-up speeds or below, was creating static on the line even with filters. She finally got so fed up because Verizon refused to send someone out without a charge, that she's sending it back altogether and going back to AOL.

Stick with cable, it's worth the money in my opinion. Yes, my Comcast is expensive, but never a problem, and much faster.

I have SBC DSL and it's a nightmare too. Once my contract is up I'm going with Comcast inet. Anyone know of a way for me to get out of my contract?

 I've been lucky I guess; I'm happy to say I haven't had any problems at all with SBC's DSL. For what I use the net for, I don't see much difference at all between my old cable connection & the DSL. Other than the price that is ;)

The speed is good. I just keep getting disconnected. I have to reboot my modem constantly. It's a speedstream 5100 with 5 lights. Anyone else have that problem?

I have SBC DSL and pay $14.95 for the first year with 1200mb download speed and have NO problems at all.

If your getting disconnected then it could mean that they may need to lower your connection speed a little bit.

I have Verizon 768/3000 and it has been flawless. I haven't had a known outage yet. My Comcrap cable would go out every other day it seemed. And I got a free wireless router/modem.

I signed up for this 14.95 verizon DSL deal about a month ago. The internet service works great, and I'm getting a speed in the high 600 out of a 768 connection, so I'm satisfied with that, and their customer service was really helpful when I had questions, but as a few other people complained, I've noticed some static on my phone line. It's worse on some of my phones, but who cares, no one uses land lines anymore - except telemarketers.

Make sure you have the filters on all your phone's or you get static and no filter
on the jack that goes to your computer for DSL input. I got this and i am very
happy and the install all i had to do was plug in the modem without running there CD and i had DSL and it runs in the hi 600 the overhead must reduce it from 768. I had there 1.5 and this seems just as fast as that to me.

I switched from Cox Cable DSL to Yahoo DSL and I love it.
Use to pay 40 for the internet service and now 15.
I received a 50 dollar GC just because I switched phone companies from Cox to SBC.
I told them my neighbor refered me and he got a $50 GC and we all went to El Pollo Loco with it (hey, it was his GC and he wanted to go there).
Installation was easy, speed is fantastic. I'm very happy.
Oh, if you send them ur old internet bill u'll get 3 months for free too.

I had Verizon DSL about 2 years ago and I was
very satisfied.
Currently I'm using Comcast's promotion cable for $19.99/6 months
and it's been flawless. But I'm not about to pay $60/month when the low
price is over so either they give me a good deal or I'm gone. I hope Verizon extends their promotion to Jan.

Almost forgot, u need SBC local service. And try to get the DSL even if the system says is not available in ur area. DSL was not available in my area according to their system so they sent a dude to check it out for free and it did. Awesome deal.

Damn it, sorry for all the extra posts but I just remember something that is worth a shot. When I was terminating my contract with Cox, the lady said that they were having a "promotion" of 19.99 /Month, is worth a try to call ur current provider and Bluff them that ur going to Verizon, see if they drop the rate just to keep u (I know AOL does it too). It wont cost u anything but the call.

Too slow. But I guess its ok for the price.
I have 5Mbps Down /2Mbps Up from COX with $40/month.
I'm sticking with Cable. (Unless FIOS comes to my town)

is this offer available in Chicago also? Oh, if you send them ur old internet bill u'll get 3 months for free too.

they didnt tell me this when i switched from Comcast.

What about the $100 rebate?????

I can't believe no one has mentioned the $100 rebate you get if you order Verizon DSL from Dell

LINK HERE

This is for the $14.95 plan. I know the link says $29.95, but if you put your phone number in (and they serve your area) it brings you to a page where the $14.95 plan is available. Try it - press the Availibility button...

BTW I signed up last month and am getting about 480/131 Kbs. Uptime has been 100% :bigok:

Call them again, fake like ur a new customer and tell them that you heard it on the radio. See if they are honoring that offer still. I heard it in the radio here in Irvine, CA. I don't see why this offer wouldn't be nation wide. If you get a positive response, then call the next day and tell them that you signed up because of this offer and they SHOULD honor it. Let me know how it goes. I'm still battling out to get this 3 free months. Last response from customer service was that they were going to send me a letter asking for the old internet bill. I think there is a link here somewher in the forums about it. Found it, here it is:
