i was wondering if someone could explain something about the warnings being given out. i don't understand any of it. I dont know if there was a post about it at one point that i must have missed but i've tryed to search for one and have not seen it. I am asking because i have just noticed a little link to view my warnings near to the top margin in my posts. When i clicked on it it says i have 10 warning point for trolling as well as a ton of others fr other reasons. I dont even know what i did wrong. it says i joined the forum for the wrong reasons. I could be banned??? For what???? What reasons do you need to have for joining beside wanting to find freebies and post freebies you've found online to share with others and discuss different topics??? If anyone could please clear things up with me without getting me into anymore trouble, it would be a great help to me. Thanks so much!!!

We have a warning system to prevent bad posts and people registering for the wrong reasons. It is a way to put someone on notice for doing something wrong but not ban them or over-penalize them.

I think that what you're seeing is the "types of warnings" guide which explains the different kinds of warnings, their point values, and the reasons for them. Those are not actually warnings that are on your account. Right now, you have one warning point out of the ten you need to get banned, and it was posted by Cedar, because you posted a topic in the wrong forum. It is only one warning point out of ten, and it will only last on your account for 30 days.

Not a big deal, you didn't do anything wrong. Next time, try to look carefully to see that all those warnings are not actually on your account.

It is in my account: Here's a copy and paste of the page because i don't know how else to show you. lol

just amagine it in the table format.

Yes, it shows.. the different warning types. these do not mean they are on your account. These are the warnings that COULD happen. Everyone sees this list if they try to look at their warnings. It is just a list. As of now you have

"Total Warning Points: 1 / 10 - Number of Bans: 0 "

1/10 points. Because of "Post On 08-05-2005 At 02:23 PM Wrong Forum 1 30 No Active "

So please calm down. if you had 10 points, you would not beable to post anymore.

Erik could not have explained it any better for you. The table just lists the warnings and repercussion. It is the same table for everyone. You have one warning post for posting in the wrong forum, nothing more nothing less. :)

Wow, I didn't even know this system existed. I can see how Mommy-Of-2 could be a bit concerned, as when I opened the table, I was a bit taken back thinking maybe I had done something as well. That table just overpowers everything else on the screen. This is certainly a fair way for Spoofee to ensure that everyone follows the same rules.

Where is this table located?

Try looking in your dining room or quite possibly the kitchen, I am sure that is where you would find the table. ;)

Under Quick Links on the blue menu bar, click the View Your Warnings option.

Thanks, spaz! I never looked at the quick links. :o Not that it matters, but if it has a "quick" link does that mean there's a "slow" link (or way) to get to it??

Sorry about that, this has to be a first. LOL I probably should have listed that in addition to my smarta$$ post, in case you might not have known. Oh well, thanks spazn! :)

How are the warnings generated? Are they automatic from certain built-in rules?

The moderators assign the warnings, so it's not really automatic.

The moderators apply them when we see something that breaks the rules.

not sure, but i don't think this site allows members to give reputation to other members anymore.
