Circuit city has this drive for $159.99 with a $80 rebate, $60 rebate and a $10 rebate. Final price $9.99

<HotDealz> I just got off the phone with the supervisor at Circuit City, and they said that they are honoring ALL 3 REBATES, as long as you have all original rebate forms (if someone could post a pdf of the $60, I'm sure it would be helpful to many). If you have all three, and purchased yesterday, and have it in hand, just send in all three rebates as normal, and use a copy of the UPC for the $60 rebate and the other two as marked, and you will receive all three rebates totalling $150. For all of you that managed to do all this, congratulations, you got your drive for $10. Hope that helps!

<HotDealz> I personally received an 8mb version in the 2mb box, so open all yours up, because you may also have an 8mb version!

Nice deal, but both the $60 and $80 rebate require the original UPC.

Anyway to get around it?

It has been confirmed by the rebate center. Send the original to $80 and a copy to $60 and make a note saying the original was sent to $80 rebate. This is HOTTTTTTTTTTTTT. ;) ;)

Yes, I have now also verified it with the WD Rebate center. I got the guys name and ID# just in case.

Thanks alot for the post ShreeKarthik! I was gonna try to get the one from OM this weekend for $40 but this is even better!

Hot, Hot, Hot!!

Whoa!!! I just ordered one, and so did my Dad!! I'll have to drive to Chattanooga (~90 miles) to get it, but I'll just take a detour by the Aquarium and make a day of it.

Thanks for this awesome deal!!

Ahh, every store around me out of stock, think maybe it will be in stock within the day or next as the rebates expire the 26.

:( :( :(

I just called and the chick i talked to said that they will only accept ONE rebate. wasnt her decision, her manager told her. :(

Incorrect rebate info

I ordered one and the confirmation email conatins links to the 3 rebates but the $60 rebate states purchases must be made before 04/23/2003.

I'm pretty sure they have amended this as many people may have been buying it - anyone have the original rebate form with other dates?

The $60 rebate link has now also been pulled from the product page I think

I called Circuit City and he said I can speacial order it which lets you purchase it today and you will receive it in 3-4 days max. Will that allow me to still send in the rebates anyone know? He said that I pay for it today so it will still be good since today is the last day.

I have the $60 rebate form with the dates through the end of the month, but no way to scan it and email it. Boy am I glad I printed them first thing this morning.

Find somebody who printed it with the good dates and have them email it to you. Otherwise your SOL. Sorry. :(

can someone post a $60 rebate with valid dates

someone please post a $60 rebate with valid dates. one on the CC website requires you to purchase before 4/23

Thanks,
Rita

I think that unless you can find someone who printed it earlier today with the 4/30/03 dates and then photocopy it you might be out of luck.

Whats the deal with companies doing this - is this considered 'bait and switch' ?

I called up Circuit City about the drive and they said that it's a pricing mistake and that the rebates were supposed to be $80 and $10. I don't think I buy it. I'd LOVE to get this drive for $10, as I've wanted a new hard drive but it's not worth me paying for it. The guy I called at my local store says it'll be in stock tomorrow, but probably with bad rebates. If anyone is able to order one, let me know. The two rebates on the site now are listed as $80 and $10, so whatever it was, they corrected it already.

In addition to that, the woman I talked to said that a corporate e-mail was passed around about the drive's price mistake and that e-mails should be sent to people that ordered it saying that there was a pricing mistake, so I don't know if the people who got away with this deal will get it or not, especially since the rebates need to be processed afterward and there's the whole issue about the copy of the UPC.

Good luck to everyone! I'm just sad I didn't get in on this. I don't know if it'll be a deal anyway, but we'll see what happens with the e-mail situation.

They have a 'no questions asked' return policy at least - why not call up and threaten to shake the hell out of the box before you return it if they will not honor the rebate :P

Just kidding - hopefully they will acknowledge the mistake and still honor the rebates.

I just called the rebate center phone number that someone posted in the forum. Everyone I call about it seems really unsure, and he said that they were "researching" it. He said to call back tomorrow because they'll probably have all their research done, but yeah I'd assume that if they find out about their mistake they'll definitely let us have it. I can even call back and say that he promised that if I call back my rebate would be honored. He seemed to think that I had already bought it and that I was trying to honor the rebates, but whatever, they have no information for now.

Just in case, I posted all those rebate and screenshot PDFs on my own ISP hosting to make sure they don't go anywhere. When they come back in stock tomorrow or whenever, I'm going to use this against them. I'm hoping it will work. Enjoy.
