200GB Caviar Special Edition Internal EIDE Ultra 7200RPM Hard Drive with24.99 8MB Cache for a great price.

Note : On the website, they list another $100 rebate, but the rebate requires the original UPC and goes to the same address. It most likely will not come through.

i moved, now i have to pay tax :( damn dell for building a factory in my state.
 
Crazy, crazy, crazy. Search for item A0080840 to find the Western Digital 200gb 7200rpm 8mb cache hard drive at $246.95. Automatic 10% off when added to cart makes it $222.26. Send for the $100 rebate (asks for capacity label) and $100 rebate (asks for capacity label OR original upc).

I have copies of both rebates saved onto my computer and will upload them to the site if Dell removes them from theirs.
 
ru sure thats the price??? i went to that item page and the hd was only207.95 then there is the $20 discount and the $5shipping discount! which brings the price down to 187.16!

i cant find the rebates anywhere tho it says the server is down or busy
 
daniel9, that's not the same drive, that's a bare drive and not retail, the rebates are only for the retail drive, don't buy that because the rebates will not work!
 
thanks for telling me! but after the rebate was posted i saw it was the wrong one and canceled it! dell said i was soldout. strange tho it looks like one can get the 250gb one with the rebate and it will be the same price as the updated 200gb one

Official Response From Dell regarding the extra $100 rebate

"Duplicate $100 mail-in rebate coupons were posted online on the product page for 200 GB Western Digital drive, although there is only one rebate available on this drive. Dell does not want any customers to have ordered this drive based on the mistaken assumption that $200 of rebates applied, so we will soon be contacting the customers who ordered the drive to give them the opportunity to cancel their order if there was any confusion resulting from the duplicate rebate coupons.

If customers wish to continue their order with $100 in applicable mail-in rebates, they will be provided the details on who to contact to reinstate their order. If we do not hear back from customers within 3 business days of the notice, we will conclude that they do not wish to continue with their orders, and we will cancel them.

Because this error was discovered after a small number of drives had shipped, we will be granting $200 in rebates on those drives."

damn...i should've jumped on this when i saw it....i need the pcb from a wd2000 because mine got fried and my 3 years of archives is on it.

anyone know of any western digital 200gb hard drive deals coming up?
