Is there an answer and will there be an explanation?

I'm scratching my head over this, but have a side of me that's saying "someone just randomly picked some stuff and this has no answer"
 
Ok, someone just told me the answer and I feel like an idiot.
 
I assure you there is a valid answer and the sequence made out something everyone you are quite familiar with.

Actually the symbols in the sequence are not proper, atleast to achive the right answer. The second sysmbol is wrong!

I think it should be more like this )( ;)
