Playstation - XBox - Playstation portable ? - I am thinking of getting a Playstation and take it to India - I heard it can be used as DVD player also,

iPod 20 gb Vs iPod 60 gb with photo, For some reason, I find that I can get iPod 60gb cheaper than 20gb with my credit card points. So I was wondering which one is better

I think it really depends on who is going to use it and how they are going to use it.

Pure assumption on my part, but unless you are also providing all the Region 1 DVDs to the person in India, the DVD feature may be useless there.

My 2 cents : Just because it [play station] can work as a DVD player, dont buy it. Buy a multi region DVD player in Costco or Sams or online with more options [prog scan, multi-voltage, multi-format etc].

Reg iPod, always prefer 60GB if you get it cheaper than 20gb.

Thanks. I am not really looking for a DVD player, but considering it as a added bonus. I am aware of the fact that Indian TV's are of PAL format.

Most of the Indian DVD's are of region ALL, which should work in region 1 player. More worried about home coocked  DVD's.

I am trying to figure out why wld someone sell a 60gb with photo for less than 20gb [no photo].

Same here.. sounds like an obvious choice to go with 60gb /w photo. But if it's cheaper.. something doesn't sound right.

As for Console, I would either go with PS2 or PSP, but this all depends on what your lifestyle is like. If you are going to be walking/on bus/on plane, then I would go and get a PSP. If you drive yourself and have a nice tv at home, PS2.

i have an xbox as i wanted better hardware and a more rugged system. play station is a little frail on the hardware, though it has a lot more games than xbox. but xbox has quite a few good ones too! ( halo, halo2, morrowind etc

XBOX, Some reason I dont like Microsoft, so I try to stay away from them as much as possible.

I do use Windows, my line of work, I can't be choose OS. I have to work on multiple OS's.

Bottomline is I am totally biased againt MS. If I have a viable option to avoid MS, I will do that.

I love my PS2. It was my only DVD player for the past five years..that is until I got a $30 DVD REGION Free thanks to Spoofee!!

If you buy a modchip for the PS2, you can make it region free, as well as play "backup" games. PSP only supports SONY's new format of media for movies, and needs Memorystick Pro memory cards. The memory cards for the PS2 have come down in price, but they are only 8MB or so..... you get more Memorysitck memory for the $$$.

And yes, even the XBOX suffers from the Blue Screen of Death......anyone remember the bad batch of XBOX's that were sold when they first came out? How many people opened up a new XBOX for the holidays and found it was DOA???
