Doesn't it seem like HD dvd's are already going the way of the dinosaurs? Blu ray is a lot more prevalent in stores and video rental chains.

Most rental chains have signed exclusive deals with the BR team. My local blockbuster is still getting some new HD-DVD content in but its almost 10:1 Blu Ray to HD-DVD

Netflix openly supports HD. Blockbuster however is going to solely support Blu-Ray. This Holiday season should be the true test though as HD should have some stand alone players in the market for under $200.
 
As an extra bonus. M$ will throw in a free red ring of death to every third customer!
 
I'd be real careful with the way these things are malfunctioning...there are all kinds of problems with these.
