FDA Advises Consumers Not To Use Certain Zicam Cold Remedies Intranasal Zinc Product Linked to Loss of Sense of Smell

The products are:
--Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Gel
--Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Swabs
--Zicam Cold Remedy Swabs, Kids Size (a discontinued product)

Health care professionals and consumers are encouraged to report adverse events (side effects) that may be related to the use of these products to the FDA's MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program online, by regular mail, fax or phone.

My hubby forwarded that to me the other day. That's just plain scary. We never used them, thank goodness. I hope not too many affected. Thanks for posting!

My family and I have used them, no problem.

I just returned the box that we had here. The store took them back ~ no questions asked and gave me a full refund.

Apparently the side effects occur mostly with long-term use. I prefer not to take the chance.
