Tempted to grab this for my messy desk but anyone know if it actually protects laptops or is it just another cheap strip?

Hmm this looks tempting at that price, I could use one behind the TV and another in the craft room. Not sure how it holds up long term though since my last cheap one died in a year. Might grab one to test and report back if my daughter does not unplug everything first.
