They're just trying to push the 840 EVO off the market with this pricing, I guess. This might be cheaper to produce.

Samsung sold their SSD division to Seagate a few months back. Seagate changed their design, using cheaper parts, and the failure rate increased. You're essentially buying a Seagate, the brand with the highest failure rate of all HDDs, both solid state or platter.
