The classic subs used to be $5 (cold cut combo comes to mind). But the classics did not include premium subs like steak & cheese, chicken & bacon, Italian BMT, etc. Those always cost a bit more. So this $6 deal is actually pretty good. I might get a sub for lunch tomorrow.

they used to be $5 all the time. the whopper used to be $1, the food on the dollar menu used to cost a dollar.. i never thought i would become that old guy complaining about what stuff used to cost.
