amazon and updated shipping

For some reason Amazon has been playing some games with more popular products lately (free after rebate and almost free after rebate). When you buy them the shipping status is 24-48hrs or 2-4days but they keep sending you emails until the product is out of the rebate period. I tried to get in on the Roxio deal two months ago and the shipping date was pushed back a month before I finally canceled!! The same thing happened with a compact flash card that was $5 after rebate. Up until these transactions I have never had any problems with Amazon, but they should be able to give you an accurate shipping period at purchase time! :?

Good to know

I have the Lord of the Rings on back order. If it is delivered after the rebate period, they get it back in a heartbeat. I did order the 8 Mile DVD with the order using the $5 coupon someone on Spoofee mentioned, so I'm getting it for only $13 bucks. That's right, even us middle aged, upper class, white guys liked the 8 Mile movie.
