100 Memorex 4.7GB 8x DVD-Rs or DVD+Rs for $29.99 Shipped

Those discs are probably cmc's which are usually crap. You would be much better off buying the Memorex from Bestbuy or Circuitcity, both have 50 packs of 16x+R's on sale this week for $19.99, they might be mcc004 which are very high quality discs. Check them with dvdinfo and return them if they are not mcc004's.

Just came back from BB and CC. The dvd+r discs at BB were cmc mag 001, they are going back. :( The discs from CC were in 25 packs for $9.99 and they are the good mcc004's, I'm going back for more of them.

hm...what's whole techical situation with these discs?

The mcc004's blew up in my Dvd recorder. I prefer the Sony Brand Better

DVD media code (aka Disc ID or Unique Disc Identifier)

TY T01/T02/G02, Ricoh R01/R02, Sony08D1, or MCC003/004, etc. is DVD media code (aka Disc ID or Unique Disc Identifier). Every piece of DVD media manufactured has a unique media code on it. It tells you what the media really is and who made it.

How do you get this media code ? Simple, really.

1 Download DVD Identifier 4.0.1 and install it.
2 Place the media to be identified in your DVD disk drive.
3 Run DVD Identifier.
4 Select the DVD disk drive that has the media in it from the drop down menu at the top.
5 Click the Identify button on the right.

Voila. That simple.

Apparently, MCC004 is one of the best. For a review (based from user reports) of DVD media, Click HERE This website is also a good resource to know things about DVD, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/+RW, DVD-RAM, DVD+R DL, ...
