Apply for a Sony Card (Visa credit card), and if you're approved you can use the card to purchase a PS3 and receive $100 credit to your card's balance 8-12 weeks after purchase. READ THE TERMS before signing up for a new credit card. Some, but not all, points to be aware of:

  • No annual fee
  • Do not be late for a payment
  • Default APR: Up to 31.49% variable
  • Late payment fees & overdraft reach $39 each
  • Pay off the entire balance before your 12-month no-finance period is over or you'll see a whole lotta interest show up at once.
The way the terms are worded it sounds like any $299 or higher purchase will result in the rebate...though be careful if you try another route. A good plan would be to use the card for the purchase, pay it off, and then cancel the account (so long as there are no issues with doing that which I am missing).

You must be able to check the following three boxes to even apply:
Yes, my credit history is clear of bankruptcy.
Yes, my credit history is clear of seriously delinquent accounts.
Yes, I have NOT been denied credit by Chase within the last 6 months.

Super Tight,

I applied for this offer over a month ago. I agree with you. Though I'm sure Sony would like for you to use this deal to buy a PS3, the fine print clearly states that any purchase over $299 is considered a "Qualifying Purchase".

So, I recently receive the card in the mail, with no intentions of using the card to buy a PS3. I call Sony/Chase customer service to confirm the offer details before I go and use the thing. The customer rep reviews my file and says that the only qualifying purchase is a PS3 purchased either at Sony.com or any Sony Style store. Clearly, the offer you posted says nothing of the sort.

The rep told me that if I feel the offer was misleading, to send all of the offer documentation and an explanation of what I am disputing. Needless to say, I got all of my documentation together and faxed it in. Now word on the outcome yet (I just sent the fax yesterday). I'm curious to hear what they come back with, but I will not be a happy camper if they come back with the same deal that I am disputing.

Has anyone else had better luck with this offer (not using it to buy a PS3)?

Guys I applied for the card (wanting a PS3 now :) ) and it said they will get in touch with me? I have alot of Chase cards hopefully they allow me this one. $500 limit isn't much, my history is pretty good.

I have to wait for the card? Others have gotten their cards instantly? Can't wait :(

Just had my friend apply for me, and he got approved instantly.

My credit must suck now?
