ViaTalk is offering Voice over IP service for 2 years. Save on your home land line phone calls!

With this service, you have unlimited local and long distance phone service for 2 years! Comes with Voicemail, Caller ID, Call Waiting, Call Forwarding, *69, free in-network calls, and many more.

A brief comparison, SunRocket offers more features and is probably a better value, but ViaTalk is known to have a higher quality of service, but the feature set is not quite as rich.

Either way, both deals are great and they are a good way to jump into VoIP.

They have a high rating of 91% from Broadbandreports.com

viatalk & telemarketers

The 3 new number we received from viatalk have constant telemarketers calling them. :mmph: The calls started within a week after setting up the accounts. Was there a do not disturb checkbox that I missed?!

Why not get a SkypeIn number and unlimited calls for a year? Isn't that only $60 or so a year? Is there a difference with this?

Yes actually, there is, but it's your responsibility, not your phone or Voip company's. Since the numbers are new, they are not on the do not call list. Go to www.donotcall.gov. You will still have calls for up to a month.

Yea, Skype offer - two years $29.99
Unlimited Calling - a full year of unlimited calls to anyone on any phone within the US and Canada for just US$14.95.:yo: :yo:

The difference is that Skype sorta needs a computer to dial and VOIP works with your existing telephone. [[Landline]]

On the contrary, you can get a skype-enabled phone and use it wirelessly around the house.. that's what I do with my Sony Mylo and it's great. :)

Just signed up. Smokin Deal! If anyone is looking to sign up and does not have a referrer code, please use mine :)

There is a small difference in pricing between ViaTalk and SunRocket.

For reasons I won't explain, I've signed up for both under the $199 for 2 year plan.

SunRocket was a one time only payment, no other charges.

ViaTalk also charges me $2.50 per month for E911 and Regulatory Recovery.

Two years for $199 deal isn't currently active. Historically, they've run that promotion as a 24-48 hour promotion around holidays.

Sometimes have a buy bu7y one year, get 3 months free, sometimes free hardware deal.

I'm not aware of any promotion they have currently for new subscribers - double reward point offer shown on their home page is a reward for existing users to refer new people.

Here's the discussion thread ( you can use the search function to find such things)

you can use Voipstunt for nothing

Not true! I just looked at VOIPStunt. They will allow you a 1 min free call to any landline number in a free area as a 'trial user'; otherwise you have to purchase 'credits' to call landline phones.

All the BetamaxGMBH companies run different promos. You just have to keep figuring out which one is giving away the free service this month.

If the delay wasn't so bad, I'd give 'em cash and use 'em..

but you still have to have a computer on

Or get one of the Skype phones like the Belkin Wi-Fi Phone for Skype (self contained) or the Linksys CIT-400 (adapter box like the gizmo) with a DECT wireless phone.

Check the fine print. ViaTalk keeps half your money $100 if you cancel the service. SunRocket has a full money back guarantee within the first 31 days and prorates your refund after that. I now have the SunRocket service and I absolutely LOVE it. Got my equipment in 4 days and was up 'n running in about 15 min. One tweak of the system was needed, which Cust Service helped me with, and I am getting GREAT quality.

I was able to get in on their special $99 for one year deal so that is truly sweeeeet. I cancelled my local phone service after testing SunRocket for the first week. I'm paying for 1 year what I used to pay for only 3 months phone service. Happy, Happy, Happy!

sunrocket is currently $199 for one year. :(

via-talk is $199 for two years. :)

big difference.

Don’t forget that VT charge extra $2.5 per month for 911 service. $229 is the true price if you go with BYOD. otherwise you also need to include activation, shipping fee. The penalty really comes in when you have VT for over 14 days, and not happy with the service. No one can warranty that their service will be good forever. They will refund only 50% of the remainder fee, No so such thing is prorate.

Sunrocket will refund the unbilled months. It better wait for sunrocket have same promo $199 for 2 yrs than sign up with VT.
