im on the phone right now with kingston for an "invalid upc code" on a rebate i submitted. i'm tired of companies doing this - when you submit a valid upc they tell you there was a problem, and usually that's that, you don't get your rebate.

word to the wise though, KEEP COPIES! otherwise, a "representative that accidentally typed in your upc number in wrong" (that's what they tell me may have happened) means you are screwed.

btw, kingston's representative just told me, "as a one time courtesy, i'm going to go ahead and validate your rebate, and you'll receive your check" etc... its such a shady operation.

CPG (continental promotions group) which handles Kingston's rebates also handles many other client's rebates, somehow I doubt you got off the phone with "kingston" but rather their rebate processor acting on their behalf. I could answer my phone as Donald Trump, it doesn't make it so ;)

9 out of 10 kingston rebates I do go through without a hitch, had a problem recently and had to fight but I got it. Thing is, you've got no problem doing a rebate with a manufacturer that has one of the most hideous rebate reps on deals sites (soyo) but you don't like CPG/Kingston who isn't hated nearly as bad, yer weird ^_-

As for Kingston, to my knowledge they have used Parago, TCA, Expressgroup, and now CPG, dunno who else cause they've danced with almost every major rebate processor at this point save for YA.

Yea, no offense taken. I know I sounded like I was lashing out, but I'm just getting upset with rebates in general, not a specific company (I think it was an OfficeMax rebate that I was complaining about, it just happened to be for a kingston product).

So, my apologies for putting down Kingston, I'm just sick of every other rebate I submit falling into the hands of someone who decides to invalidate it, when I'm 200% sure I packaged everything up according to their guidelines.

Good find, Papanickel, and Cpaladin - I hope they do end up being free AR soon...that'd be nice.
