Sweet! I saw the sign as I passed Walgreen's last night but the rebate makes it a better deal. Time to stock up.
 
CVS offers this same deal free with your CVS card. $10 MIR + $5 credited to your CVS card.
 
Can more than one rebate offer be used??

Does anyone know if I can use this deal and the deal where you buy 8 2-liter bottles+3 Lays Bags or is there a limit to the rebates? They are named different but are similar. I just bough everything for the "Make a play for 2-liter Super Bowl Savings" can I send in both?
 
This deal is even sweeter if you use the $1 off coupon that was in Sunday's paper. The coupon is for $1 off a 12-pack of Pepsi product andTostitos but it works on any Frito-Lay product. Also, if you have any coupons for Frito Lay products and/or Pepsi products individually, they will work in conjunction with the combined coupon at Walgreens. I just purchased 3 12-packs of Pepsi and 3 bags of Lays for (-)$2.40 after the coupons and rebate.
 
Is this another one of those deals where you need to break open the chip bags to comply w/ the rebate?

I'm not familiar w/ exactly which rebates you are referring to, but I'd check the rebate forms to see if they require Original UPC's or Original receipts - if so, sending in two rebates for items probably won't work.

FYI, walgreens has a similar rebate offer (get $10 when u buy 3 bags of lays & either eight-2L bottles or three 12-can packs of of Pepsi products) and you don't need to send in the original UPC's (just write down the UPC's on the back of the original receipts <-- the receipt you DO need to send in). They also give you 10% in add'n to your refund if you choose to get a Walgreens GC instead of a check (like an extra $1). If you shop there frequently, this might work out to be slightly better. :)

Meijer's deal (Ends 1/29/05)

Our local Meijer's (Fort Wayne and Kokomo, IN) has 24 packs of Pepsi products on sale for $4.96 and 12 ounce bags of Doritos chips for $1.64.
If you purchase two 24 packs of Pepsi products and three bags of Doritos at one time, the register automatically subtracts $6 from the total.
Price before MIR: $9.96; after MIR (available on the cartons) -$0.04.

Walgreen's rebates are a little different. When you walk in the store, there's a stand w/ the current week's coupons *and* a smaller booklet/pamphlet called the EasySaver Catalog. These change each month. It has various coupons, PLUS, the front of the catalog has a rebate form for the current month. You complete the form for all rebateable items that month, include UPC's if applicable, then mail it at month end (for Jan., must be postmarked by Feb. 5th). There's also an option to receive payment as a Walgreen Gift Card, which then adds 10% bonus to your rebates.

Exactly as Spoofed says, the rebate form is in the January 2005 Walgreens EasySaver Catalog (Jan 2 - Jan 29, 2005). It's rebate #50 on page 52 "Get $10 back when you buy three (3) bags of any Frito-Lay snaks, 9 1/2 oz or larger, PLUS Three (3) 12-pack Pepsi-Cola products -OR- Eight (8) 2-Liter Pepsi Cola products"..."Limit 1 Pepsi/Frito-Lay $10 Rebate per address or household. Original receipts w/ product UPC coes written on the back of receipt required"

They have a lot of these in the front of their stores (usually located near where they have their weekly ads). I wouldn't waste printer ink printing out that pdf version, but if you wanted, I think you could take a look at it to see the details. Walgreen's is the most user-friendly rebate you'll ever see. I did their monthly one nearly every month in 2004. On 2 occasions, I was late mailing in the rebate submissions...one time it was over a week late (I got mixed up on which weekend the rebate ended for that month), but they send me my check each and every time. Just make sure to call the 800# if you are late mailing in the rebate. Great company to work with!!!

Same deal elsewhere

The same deal is on at my local SuperKmart, Farmer Jack, Kroger, and Spartan store. Don't know the prices on the other three, but Kmart has pepsi for 4/$10 and Lay's chips 3/$5. Comes out to $2.50 AR.
I think Farmer Jack's and Spartan's rebates were in their sales papers, Kmart has them attatched to the 12-packs.
YMMV, though, I guess.
