This will be very useful for the upcoming snowboarding season - thanks! :D

I picked up a pair. the clerk at the store said that was a very good deal. They are quote rugged and have some neat features. However, they don't come with batteries or a charger. So if you add that in the equation it's not as good of a deal. Each radio takes 4 AAA batteries. I like the weather radio feature on it.

yea, rechargable radios are so nice. too bad you can't find a nice pair for under 60. i have a pair that was free after MIR from office max last year, and they work just fine. you just need to keep feeding them batteries. lucky for me, the guy up the street has a job where he gets loads of them for free.

UPDATE: The deal is now good through Nov 30th.

Did anyone get these radios? They are great except for the weather channel. I turn off the weather alert alarm that will go off automatically, but still it alarms all the time. Basically to turn it off you hold down the cloud button for the weather stations, move the ON/OFF indicator to OFF and hit the transmit button to confirm. It is off, but yet still alarms. It happens on both my radios. Please advise.

If you are having problems with the set take em back to RS and get another set, or ask them if they know how to stop them from alarming (which I very seriously doubt they will be able to). A lot of the sales ppl at RS are not to swift.

Yea. I don't have my receipt so I may just deal with it. I mean it was 5 mile range radios for $20. Usually you pay $50 for that, but I did have to get 8 AAA rechargeable batteries. Anyone know if RS will return without a receipt? I know they put it in their computer.

Yea it's possible that you could return them w/o your receipt as long as you have all of your info, address, phone number etc...
