$5000 Range Rover & other deals from American Express

American Express is having special deals for their cardmembers. You MUST have an American Express Credit Card to purchase items from their "Wish List."

Deals only available at 12pm, 3pm and 7pm EST. A new item everyday (sometimes up to 3 different items offered) until December 16, 2005.

Examples:

11/29: $750 37" Panasonic Plasma TV
11/30: $300 Nespresso Romeo Espresso Machine
12/1: $900 Vespa LXs
12/5: $5000 Range Rover Sport HSEs

WOW! We could really use the Range Rover. What an amazing deal...it's too bad we don't have an American Express card. :(
 
It says "due to high demand the site is at maximum capacity. Try again". Yea right. That's like the Best Buy $149 computer on BF and they had 5 of them.

There will be 3 Range Rovers sold, I assume 1 each time (12/3/7pm EST). I tried for their car last year, couldn't even load the site for an hour afterwards.

This isn't a sweepstakes or contest... it's a discounted purchase. I suppose it's somewhat of a competition since you have to be one of the first few to get onto the site before it gets swamped. :tongue:

I missed out on the plasma yesterday. Site was at capacity or whatever that message said. That clock on the website can be really buggy if you don't refresh often. I missed out on yesterday's certificate offers because of that. :(

I don't think anyone will get any of the deals.... I clicked at 7:00pm exactly and at 7:08 it said all products currently in cardmembers shopping cart...... do you need to login or something???

For the Range Rover you will need to have an open credit to cover the $5,000, plus tax on the $56,000 retail price. Only one will be sold at each time, 12, 3, 7. You will need to be the first person to add it to their cart when the item is released. You will have 8 minutes I think to complete your transaction.
 
I got a Vespa last year.

Last year I managed to get a Vespa on the first day... no success since.
 
If it is like last year AMEX actually covers the sales tax for you... and then cover the tax on the money they sent you to pay the tax.
