Hi!
For the umpteenth time, I got another mail asking me and my spouse to go to listen a 90 minutes sale pitch on a resort for a gift. The gift range from a free 3 day 2 night in Orlando or Vegas or Caribbean cruise or $300+ cash.

Has anybody ever tried this kind of promotion and what actually happen?
It sounds to be good to be true, but again, 90 minutes is a long time....

Anybody has tried this?

Is this in Flordia? If so, they probably want you to buy a Timeshare, and they use high pressure sales tactics...not really worth the trouble...JMO

My husband and I did one for Fairfield Resorts in Vegas. We got 4 nights/5days in a suite a the RIO...$200 in cash...$50 in dining certs...we did the 90 min presentation and tour...wasnt bad...we just had it already set in our minds that we werent going to sign up, so we just went along with it and then kept telling them NO, it wasnt for us...it was worth the trip for us...and now we dont need the resort membership, because we now live in Vegas!!!

my husband and i used to go to these presentations when we went to florida - they gave away free disney, universal, seaworld, epcot tickets just for listening to them. the talks can be really high pressure and the sales people can make you feel terrible about yourself and the fact that you don't want to buy. we can't do it anymore - it's just too much stress on a vacation to have to listen to it.

btw...we finally DID buy at fairfield myrtle beach  - the offer was too good and we haven't regretted a single payment or time spent there since

I did go one of a presentation like this, usually they really give you the freebies they said, but some time you may need to attend a 2nd presentation to get the freebies, depend on what the "invitation card" says (read the small print!!)

Also, during the presentation, keep the mind that you are present for the freebies, NOT FOR BUYING ANYTHING. You can daydreaming during the presentation, than you may have less stress on purchasing the item they present. Try not to buy anything they present, those things seem useless for me.

Good luck, hope you get the freebies. ;)

went to one in vegas for free luggage, the sales lady was a b.... and very high pressured, had to be very vocal at the end to get her to give up the luggage. but got a free watered down drink and my suitcase....lol

After the pitch, just tell them you are a shoe salesman. They won't even want to hear about how you scored four touchdowns in a game for Polk High.

A friend of mine did it in Pa. She sat through a presentation and received a camcorder and a $500.00 gift card. :)

Myself and my hubby do this all the time, yes it's a 90 minute presentation about Timeshare which by the way is a very good deal but we weren't interested at the time..we got free vacation, free cruise, free money and free tickets.etc the best one we did so far was at Smoky Mountain Tennesse Very beautiful place we had gotten 3 days 2 nights to stay at the Holiday Inn Hotel for FREE,plus tickets to the DollyPorton events,Free aquarium tickets and a coupon book filled with coupons, Tickets to go to the Stampede in Gatinlburg, and we still have a free vacation this year too but we are going to go on the cruise this year to Mexico...
When you go for the presentation wheather you sign-up with them or not you still get all these Free offers just for your time and for viewing there Resorts.
FairField is a very good one too ..
Here is one of there link http://www.resortopportunities.com/...arium&OVKEY=tennessee aquarium&OVMTC=standard

When they say that the terms/conditions are to make X a year... what do you have to show them to prove that???

never seen this before... would love to attend this... Please post more info...

Thanks!

Thanks for all the replies. I think I will do fine, but my spouse will feel terrible, thus, I better not go. Wonder if I can go with somebody else and then have my spouse name in the ticket, but the person going with me will probably think the same too :)

About how to get into this, usually when we are the mall there will be a display of cars or SUVs and sweepstake entry cards. I think when I filled it out once or twice, they got my name that way. In the back of the entry card they printed something about listening to a 90 minutes lecture. I guess they invite people that enter those sweepstakes.
