Acer 19" Widescreen LCD for $219.95 Shipped

Should I go w/ this monitor or the Dell UltraSharp 1907FP 19" LCD Monitor? I've always wanted widescreen but I know the Dell is far better. Help!

I purchased the Dell 1905FP a while back for $269+tax. Several of my colleagues have this monitor, too. It is a terrific flat panel and comes equipped for DVI. While the 1905/1907 monitors are not identical (contrast ratio/response time), they both are highly rated. If you can get either for around $250, IMHO you can't go wrong. Good luck!

it really depends if you REALLY need the wide screen format. primary reason i would want WS is watch WS movies, TV shows, etc.... (but i hate to sit behind my screen if i can help it). for all other computing purposes, it's not a need.

in reality, the 19" WS has shorter height of a regular screen.... take that into consideration. you will actually see less height-wise (though see more width-wise).
 
Let me make it even more difficult -- if you search the other bargain sites, you'll find that Staples (B&M only) will be offering the Acer AL1916ASD 19" LCD Monitor (VGA *and* DVI) starting 4/23 for $139 AR/AC !!! :eek:

Well, I was being illusive for a reason, not fair to Spoofee to be advertising other bargain sites. Might even be censored for all I know. Anyway, this is on FW and SD, search for Staples and Acer, you can't miss it.
 
Remember the price/deal he just posted is for the NORMAL 19" rather than the Widescreen as far as I can figure out. The current deal is for the widescreen, so it's up to which you want.
 
The Dell 19" (All of them) SUCK...they use a Samsung panel. Beware.

Any Dell above 24" is fine as they use Phillips panels. I own 2 Dell19"s in a dual monitor config, and it's really bad. Although if you do typing only it should be fine for you.

I don't see this deal for $139 anywhere. The best I can get is $169.

Picked mine up today, used the 12% customer appreciation coupon + another $20 off $100 I had (both readily available), although some ppl are getting $30 off $150 from eBay. Final tally (before taxes) is:

$300 - $50 (instant) - $50 (rebate) - $30 (12% coupon) - $20 (coupon) = $150.

There is some YMMV on this deal since some ppl are claiming Staples may not stack the coupons, but mine didn't even blink an eye. I was satisfied w/ the $20 coupon too since that was free and the ones on eBay would cost a few bucks anyway.

Even @ $170, it's a very good deal for a 19" LCD w/ DVI.

UPDATE: Oops, almost forgot, use Staples Rewards card and save another 2%, which I assume is after coupons but before rebate, so that's 2% of $200, or another $4.00 savings. You might even be able to add in some $3 ink coupons at some Staples (I just didn't happen to have any).
