Here is the story, I was looking for health insurance coverage for both my wife and I, my company doesn't have health ins benefits. My wife is 10 months pregnant. No insurance will take us so I was looking on the internet and try to get a quote. So this company, Healthplan Network Incorporated
called me and tried to quote me about $250/month which is not bad.

But when the guy mentioned all the benefits on the phone, it sounds alarming so I asked him to send me a package so I could review it. And he started to get rude and pressure me to buy this ins over the phone. So I said no. And he insulted me and hang up the phone.

I thought it would stop there but since then he uses my email for spam, I got about 20 email at least with the header "HealthPlan News" w/ invalid sender email address. On top of that, I got phone call from this company about 5-10 times a day. I told them to take me off the list because I don't want to get their ins but they don't seem to listen

I tried to report this to BBB but BBB doesn't handle this kind of issue. The only thing I can get is their address and phone number below from reverse phone directory:

Healthplan Network Incorporated
4300 N University Dr
Sunrise, FL 33351-6249
(954) 748-1881

One thing that I am afraid is I might give them my private info over the phone because I thought they're a legit company.
Is there any thing that I can do at this point?

contact the insurance commisioner for Florida.

Thanks, for the info both diGriz and aprilb12, I will try both see how it goes. Too bad I didn't remember his name.

I'd be concerned about your wife being 10 mos. pregnant! :theyareon

Yes, I am precocious. Not only that issue, I have to deal with this ins company.

Anyway, she is 10 weeks not 10 months, somehow my mine went somewhere when I wrote this posting.

Anybody know ins company that take pregnant women? I checked Medicaid but my income is way over the limit. But at the same time we have a lot of debt to pay. Any input would be great guys... thanks

Not sure what state you're in but...up here...we have a w.i.c. program (women, infants and children)...Not sure of the qualifications but it might be worth looking into. It also used to be less expensive to use the 'clinic' when having children and not going through a private MD. Check out your area.

Good luck....;)

:secret:Glad to hear it's weeks, not months......;)

I'm in Georgia, I checked WIC website, we won't be eligible because our income is over the limit. But thanks for the info precocious

I work for a medical insurance company and the problem you are going to run into at this point in trying to buy a private policy is what is called pre- existing conditions. One way around this is if your wife has not been to the dr and medically diagnosed with being pregnant. If she has then her condition is pre-existing, if she has not then it isn’t, although this can be differ between companies. Some companies do not consider this to be pre existing and some do. It really all depends on each individual company. Be sure to read the fine print and if asked to include all diagnosis that you have been treated for over whatever time frame they ask, do not lie. If the policy would contain a pre-existing clause, they will cancel you if you do not disclose this information and they would find out otherwise. Trust me, they will because they will ask for medical records upon a submission of a claim. I hope this makes sense and was somewhat helpful.

Thanks aprilb12 for the insider info, that's really helpful. I'll try to look but I won't lie to them.

I bought insurance through American Community (just have the name in my old checkbooks, don't have any of the other info still - sorry) when I found out I was pregnant. I had not been to the Dr yet, so I was not on file anywhere as being pregnant. Once my insurance kicked in, I went for a physical and "found out" I was pregnant. I had the same problem with making too much money for state aid, but not being able to afford to buy insurance. I ended up paying 450.00 a month, plus an extra $76 for maternity coverage. Its a lot but it was the most affordable I could find.

Did you also check Peachcare? Their income guidelines are supposed to be higher and you can (painlessly and quickly) apply over the internet. (http://www.peachcare.org/)

I've also seen a website called http://optionline.org/index.html which is supposed to help people connect with pregnancy support (it's primarily a pro-life site) if you input your city into the search engine.

Congratulations and good luck!

Thanks for everything guys, this is one of the reason I like people here in Spoofee, you are all very helpful but at the same time knows how to joke around.... Again thank you I really appreciate all the helps
