airline tickets when and where to buy for this december

hello, i want to go to hawaii this december. i would like to go for a week. where is the best place to buy flights and should i wait longer for a bigger discount? my dates are between dec 8 through the 20 anytime during that period. i have an american express card if anyone knows if that will get me any discounts. thanks so much

too bad i didn't see this sooner. i was just looking for tickets for january and found the best deal was cheapseats.com. i googled them to make sure they were legit and they are. they weren't cheaper than the cheapest tickets, but they were the same price as americawest but i get to fly at much better times of the day... for $261, americawest would have me arrive at my destination at 2:07am and then my arrival back home would've been 1:10am... but for $265, cheapseats got me tickets on united where i'll arrive at 9:30am in phoenix, and 10:55am back in Fresno-- i'll be a much happier person if i get to fly during normal hours.
also, the travel insurance was only 9.95, and other places i saw it up to 24.95...
so, long story short, if you're flying--- check out cheapseats.com
