Airnet Wireless Router for $5.64 Shipped After Rebate

Lots of iffy reviews on this over at NewEgg. That deal sure is tempting though. Looks like a couple of ringer reviews planted by company employees too. Too bad as I always thought Airnet had a great rep.

BTW: If the USRobotics MaxG router deal comes around again make sure to jump on it. Thats model 5461. It was $14.95 AR from CompUSA. I'm on one now and it is by far the best router I've ever dealt with.

out of stock

It is listed on Newegg's site as "Out Of Stock (ETA: 10/23/2006 8:34:00 AM)".

yes, that was a good deal - i like the router and the printer server feature, but i had the most trouble with rebates on that one! First office depot gave me the wrong one and when i exchanged it it had different model # and date so made my rebate invalid. I gave them a hard time until the manager finally gave it to me a cost after rebate. Then the second rebate got denied - said they had received the serial no. but not the UPC code. Impossible! i keep telling them they were on the same peice of cardboard :stupid: - i have the photo copy! They just tell me that is not the case and too bad it is after the rebate period so i cannot send in my photocopy!

Wow, what a horror show. Yeah, I've heard there are all kinds of problems with OD rebates. I haven't had one yet really but there are complaints all over the 'net about OD. I avoid their specials unless it is an unbelievable deal.

I did have trouble with the Microsoft wireless 3000 mouse deal of last month from OD. $10 out the door with a $5 rebate. I bought two. One of them got denied - they said I didn't include the UPC.

(Come now, I am a professional rebater and it is literally impossible that I would not include the UPC.)

I called today and MS just took my word for it that I had included the UPC. Sometimes you just gotta love MS.

Yes some people at rebate centers seem like the actually want to help you get your rebate. I had a problem with a MachSpeed rebate. it asked for the serial number so i wrote the number inscribed on it. turns out the serial number is actually on a sticker on the packaging - not designated as such or anything, just a plain little 4 or 5 digit number. I just think that is the stupidest thing ever - :stupid: the number scribbed on the item is not the serial no but the one on a sticker (on the packaging!) is?:noidea: But I guess it really was my fault - they had a rebate FAQ online that indicated where to find the serial number and all but i guess i did not read it!

But when i submited a ticket online they were really nice about it and allowed me to resubmit it and everything! :bigok: :claps:
