Not really worth it. Any movies before 1986 will still have that old film quality. You still wont get that blu-ray HD sharpness. example: TopGun in HD, will still look only 5% better than DVD Quaility. Save ur money and just get the DVD box set.

I'm telling you right now 'Alien' looks unbelievably amazing in blu-ray. It's actually the oldest moving in this set where the difference is most noticeable. (And of course, 35mm film has a higher native 'resolution' than HD, so yes it makes a difference.)
