Amazon - Buy $80 Worth of Games, Get $40 Back

Spend $80 on select games and receive a $40 promotional claim code usable towards a future Wii, Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 game purchase. To qualify for the credit, you must check out with two or more eligible items in your cart. Only purchases from Amazon.com as the seller and made between October 26, 2009 and October 31, 2009 will qualify for this promotion. Only one (1) promotional claim code will be sent per household. Codes will be sent via email seven (7) business days after all items in the qualifying order have shipped. Restrictions apply.

This could be really good. It's 1/3-off ($40 off $120 in purchases) AND if the games are discounted at all then it could be more like 40% or more off the MSRP. That's pretty good plus no tax or shipping like with Best Buy, Wal-Mart or Toys'r'Us.

My wallet, bank account(s), and credit card(s) all hate you Amazon.

BTW, with CoD:MW2, is that considered a separate promo by Amazon (the $20 Amazon credit)? It's says only 1 promo per household, so I'm curious if the $20 MW2 will negate the $40 Amazon promo (or vice versa)?

i think it's different because that's preorder.. whereas the games for this current promotion is for ones already released...

sweet deal! just got myself 3 new games...cheaper than getting used....though i wish that $40 back was general use amazon cert...oh well, i guess ill have to buy more games later

When I did the buy 2 get 3rd game free promo a few weeks ago, I also qualified for a separate promo getting $10 credit for buying PS3 RB Beatles Software.

If it doesn't say specifically, the promotions should stack (YMMV)...but like the poster below you said, preorders probably are not on that list of qualifying games. Make sure your list of PS3 games says "Video Games › Special Offers › PlayStation 3".

I got scammed. I picked a wii title that clearly had the "Qualifies for the promo" blurb on the page and then when I checked my order status I noticed that the seller was not amazon.com but a 3rd party. Amazon is saying I won't qualify. Fortunately, I took a screen print of the page in question. I am really frsutrated with Amazon's drop in service levels.

Did the deal, great deal! Received my $40 gift a day after I received my games! Amazon is fantastic!
