Don't buy the Dyson

Dyson vacuums are highly overrated and a perfect example of form not following function. Consumer Reports routinely gives higher marks to vacuums that are half the price. Not a good value even at $260.00.

I got a Bissell 3576 for $79 last year at target and it rocks. Some people on amazon say it doesn't last long, but these are people who probably don't change the belts and clean the filters. Mine still works good after almost a whole year.

Wow, I could not disagree more with this statement. If you have ever had dogs that shed considertably, this is the vacuum for you. I have had Labrador Retrievers for many, many years and most vacuum cleaners go bad after about a year with all the hair I pick up.

I have 2 dyson's right now (one in basement where dogs room is, one on main floor for main floor and 2nd floor). My original Dyson, I have had for 5 1/2 years and only had to replace the belt on 1 time -- I called their 800 number and they sent it to me free of charge even though vacuum was 3 years old. My 2nd one, I bought as a refurb model (something I am not usually a fan of) almost 2 years ago and never had a problem with it.

I have no problem giving dyson the highest ratings possible and the consumer reports best that I owned before the dyson, should get about a 1 out of 10 compared to dyson!!!

If you have no pets, no kids, etc. I agree, save your money and buy a $79 vacuum... never again for me!!
