AMD is offering 25GB of free online storage so you can upload your audio, images, videos and more.

I Uploaded a few files but they didn't even show up in the file manager. Anyone got it to work?

This is a great deal (For free) and a terabyte of storage for 30 bucks a month isn't so shabby either. Seeing as how I have 100 gigs of music this seems like it will be a better backup for my pictures (around 10 gigs)

The question is how reliable are they, and how long are they going to stay available? I guess we have to wait and see what happens.
Still waiting for my updates to show up...

Unfortunately (for me) 80% of my music is in FLAC format (hdd space is so cheap that I might as well archive all my music in perfect cd quality so that I don't have to rerip anything in the future]) and this supports many formats which is great, only it only supports lossy formats. Thanks anyway, I appreciate the link, hopefully others can use it.

NYC, I'm with you, I just uploaded two files (one mp3 and one jpg) and neither has shown up in the photo or music folders, not even in the file manager.

My files didnt' show up after uploading neither. I waited few minutes and refreshed the page thinking they will magically show up. Nothing yet, 30 min later.

this is sweet but remember your upload speeds probably suck (40kb/sec in most cases) so uploading 25GB will take forever!

 I havent received an email yet from them and when i go to my account its says i only have 1024mb available.

I just signed up and tried to upload files and got a message that it was too busy right now to upload.....7:30am (cst) on a Saturday, what's this thing going to be like when the really get busy? So I'm not ready for anything other that the free account for now.

I started using streamload a couple of months back, and it worked well, although files could take a few minutes or sometimes, hours, to show up. The recent upgrade to "mediamax" has been awful, for me at least. The files take longer to show up, sometimes overnight - and at one point before you could do a thumbnail preview of images - this for the most part no longer works, even though they do have a "view" function. The images just sit "processing" for extended periods.... I'd say these guys are having some serious growing pains, and the "AMD" just seems to be a custom-branded version of the standard service.

i signed up and it works. i upload some files last night to test it out and when i woke up this morning they were there. two thumbs up from men, nice find

Do I have this right? Say I back up 25GB of important stuff and my hard drive dies, with a 1GB a month download limit it will take over 2 years to get my stuff back?

Tooooooooooooooo Sloooooooooooooooooooooow

I cannot even begin upload process. After clicking upload button, it takes forever to load. :(

LOL. I guess if you had a crash, you could spend $10 just that month and dl the whole thing. But your way's funnier.

Oh, and I signed up, got the email, uploaded stuff, 12 hours later, nothing showing.

edit: scratch that, my two files are showing. But the 2mb mp3 takes 4 minutes to begin streaming, and the 7Kb gif (that's .007 Mb) took 3 minutes to dl.

frogger

Hey guys . . . Everyone needs to take a step back and rate this thing with one star. How in the world did it get rated a super deal? This is a fraud, a rip off. Simply read the comments posted here -- the site just doesn't work. Probably owned by someone who wants to collect everyone's music collection, for free! C'mon, zap this deal with one star!

hey

Smokin deal! Server Busy error messages though. Hopefully they get it straightened out.

Yo!

You guys are better off getting a shared hosting deal from 1and1 and you will get your own domain(s) to 50GB of space and a 500GB of traffic a month, 1,000 email accounts, a bunch of other stuff for $45 a year sounds good to me! (Plus yearly domain cost, ~$5. First year is free.)
