Ants eat away woman's eye in hospital

Scampering rats and stray cats and dogs sharing bed space with patients are not uncommon sights at India's overcrowded state-run hospitals that are used by millions of poor and middle-class people.
Yes, clubchick, I do agree with you that we live like pretty well here in the US!
 
This is disgusting and not right.

"It's not uncommon for ants to attack diabetic patients. We have set up a committee to investigate the unfortunate incident," hospital superintendent A. Adhikary said.

Yeah, right. It's not uncommon to have enough ants in a hospital to attack a patient's eye? That's irresponsible. This is completely heartbreaking, you'd think that hospitals in India would have SOME standards, as India is higher than a developing country.

If I were the family I would demand answers. Do lawsuits exist in India?
