Hello. I started a playgroup called Baby Steps for a group of moms in Gainesville, FL a few months back. Alot of them are new to the area. I was planning to move there but we ended up staying in Brunswick, GA instead. I have an online group set up for them to talk back and fourth and I've been keeping in touch with them there. They asked me for some help. They all would like to meet up for some new activities but they don't really know about what they can do with babies. The youngest child of the group is 2 months old and the oldest is 3 years old. There are 11 babies and only 2 toddlers. What I was wondering is if anyone knew of any easy activities that babies could take part in at such a young age. I figured a music class type thing where they learn to play baby toy instruments and listen and dance to music. Also a painting group, you know baby's first picture. Pictures with Santa at the mall. Also just some small things like lunch and a holiday cookie exchange, something for the moms to get together to do but not exactly "for" the kids although when everyone is together they can play. You know what I mean? So any other ideas???? Thanks soo much!

Don't forget the park. Parks can be great places for mom with kids of all ages to get together and have some fun. Picnics are free and there is no entrance fee for the park. Saving money and having fun. For the wee babes, have a big blanket to scoot around on and toys to play with and the older kids can run around and play. Fun will be had by all. :D

What I'm worried about right now is the winter. It get cold even in Florida and Georgia. Maybe not as cold as it is up north but my first year down here, last winter, went down to 35 degrees. That's cold for babies and kids to be playing in at the park. They used to go all the time during the summer, there is a fountain that they told me about and the kids love it.

Movie night? the wiggles can calm the youngest of children ;-)

A few years ago when my boys were babies our playgroup alternated houses..
Basically we had anywhere from 4-8 moms and babies come and 1 time per week we would meet at someone's house to sit around talking, nursing and eating. The host mom would put together a simple light lunch with salad, soup etc...We loved the comforts of bring at someones house plus you got to sample some eles receipes. Worked out great for us until the kids needed room to run at 2 + years old.
Have fun!!
