A few years ago my wife surprisingly bought me a SanDisk 512 Mb MP3 player with an FM radio. The reason it was a surprise was that it was practically bleeding edge technology at the time and my wife NEVER gets me geek things just like I NEVER buy her jewelry (except for things like the necklace at Xmas).
OK, since then I have gotten an iPod and another MP3 player. But I found that the radio in the old player was excellent and I literally listen to it every day. Only today one of the stereo channels stopped playing. I tried different headphones and it's something with the player. If I pull the headphone jack out a little it goes mono and I can hear both ears so with a little tape there is a "work around".
In the mean time I'd like to find a really nice radio. FM for sure and AM would be nice (for the ball games of course) but not all radios are created equally. The only requirements beside sounding good with good reception is that it takes batteries (which hopefully last long) so if it stops I can just pop in a new one without waiting for recharge. And that it's small. The one I have takes a single AAA.
If anyone was one they might recommend I'd appreciate it. If someone had asked me I'd have recommended the old SanDisk SDMX1-512R and if none better are known I'll probably pick one up referb or from e-bay.
Thanks. (I can't even believe I wrote all THAT)
