Did I miss the "sticky" stating we could not post the MJ jokes here for all to see?

I miss the "wild west days" of the 'Off Topic' tab.

It was okay when he was alive but right after he died? NOT COOL.....

WTH, post 'em!

WHY did he name his kid 'Blanket'?

My heart goes out to MJ's kids. I hope they can find some normalcy in their lives. I can see now why he hid them from the public.

WHY did he name his kid 'Blanket'?

I guessed that was the one "The Great One" dangled from a balcony in a blanket. Then again the kid may have been a little like Linus and always has a security blanket. I know I'd have needed such a thing.

The one I have been trying to figure out is why it seems that the black community has embraced him as the greatest black entertainer in the entire history of the black man. I just don't get it.

The guy seems to have done everything in his power to appear anything BUT black down to wearing white socks and loafers which I have not yet seen embraced as a black fashion statement.

Seems to me if I did everything I could to reject my race and in death my race embraced me it would be a little insulting and not make a lot of sense after I insulted the race.

I feel there is something I am missing here.

Jerry, it's apparently a 'black thing'
We probably can't understand.

yeah, and then he had the nerve to sing "it don't matter if you're black or white", cause to him, obviously it did matter his whole life.

Very sorry if I offended you or anyone else here - but I've never exactly been politically correct, whether the person is alive OR dead. I know that there seems to be this "we don't speak ill of the dead" mentality ( not just here and today but forever and worldwide), but I think that he was just a little unusual to say the least. This may be a bit TMPI but I am personally a survivor of physical, emotional and sexual abuse (I have the hospital and legal documents to prove it) but I did not and - do not - think it's OK for kids to sleep in a bed with an unrelated person. Like many others, I also think that it was a bit odd that he surrounded himself with a bunch of maniquins (my spelling stinks today!), although I do believe that it may have been symbolic of the only true proverbial "friends" - ones that did not ask for anything of him or screw him over. Please don't get me wrong here: I do think that he was a good artist but I personally don't believe that his talent and popularity warranted more news coverage and live broadcast time than that alloted for US Presidents. I read that the live coverage of his memorial came in third just behind the wedding of Lady Dianna & Prince Charles and the Pope's funeral! I guess what I'm saying is that just because you're very talented, notorious, unconventional and dead it shouldn't make you immune to politically incorrect humor and satire. I mean, these ARE jokes, folks. It all may be in disputable "poor taste" - and some of you may see it that way - but please don't condem me for being able to lighten up and see the humor in a lot of situations. Jeez, I even make fun of the often dumb, selectively hearing and progressively blind Mrs Magoo that I am! I believe that our defended right to free speech was intended to protect viewpoints that may be dispised by many. Like I said, I'm sorry if I offended any members but I think the jokes are pretty damn funny - and I did not see the "closed thread" regarding this subject - I have visited Spoofee only 2 times since his death and did not notice it.

Ladymez, I wasn't offended and I hope no one gave you grief over this....
