For me it's my fishtank's heaters. I figure they can live without fresh water, but they'll die if it gets too cold.

Microcenter had the APC Back-UPS 750VA for $29 a few weeks ago... I should have picked one up.

The oddest thing? ... don't know if this qualifies, but I had to put a full sized household freezer on one because everytime the power dipped or went off for a second, the freezer would not come back on unless it was unplugged and plugged back in. A 1000VA UPS solved that.
