I'd just suggest that anyone thinking about this should know what is in their system and how much power it all takes. I wouldn't use this for my computer. (I use a 500 watt protector I got from Costco for 99 bucks a few years back.) For lower end computers it might be ok I suppose. Or maybe without a big monitor or without any monitor at all you might be ok. 300 watts can be ate up pretty fast by many components these days.

This showed OOS for me on-line for a bunch of different ZIP codes, but B&Ms do have a few in stock.

longevity

After a year of use, this thing only powers my computer for 20 or 30 seconds max. The battery in this unit goes quickly.

Maybe your computer/monitor uses too much wattage, and the UPS can't handle it? A typical 19 inch CRT (non-lcd) monitor draws around 100 watts (http://computer.howstuffworks.com/monitor9.htm) while active. That doesn't leave much for your computer. (Especially with high end CPUS, graphics cards, and multiple hard drives.)

It's probably only a 4 minute model, it runs software that saves all your programs as soon as a power changes, then turns off your computer. The software is optional.

Great for your tv & dvd player though.
