Apple Care on this is $29. If I can swap out for a new in 2 years, I think it's a good deal.

Also you want to buy more like $280 in gift cards because with taxes, you are looking at more like $280. Gosh... $280 for earbuds.. crazy times we live in.

Nope, the $222.74 shipped is misleading. You didn't factor in sales tax. (Every state is different) but for California residents, it's 9.5%. Add the tax and your total is $243 and change.

I heard the sound quality is actually a lot better, but that price though

How do you plan to get Apple to swap them out for you if there is no issue with the airpods?

I pre-ordered from Target.com on Tuesday but there is still no shipping status for my order...not sure when Target will be receiving inventory.

Target is currently sold out, but you can get these from Costco for $234.99 without the gift card hassle.

So to save the most... you can walk into a target and have them price match to amazon, then you can use the discounted gift cards to pay for it so you can now drop it down to $215 or so

C'mon people. They're just earbuds, and unnecessarily expensive ones at that. Be a wise consumer and shop around for other brands with equal or superior quality. Don't be sheep.
