I didn't know this and had to look it up, but this shows you how you to identify your iPod to know if it is 1st or 2nd generation.
 
i don't have amazon prime n i don't think it's even worth the shipping cost. so i'm gonna call the rebate center tomorrow and see if i can get 2 rebates from the same order but different names & address...
 
I wouldn't try the multiple rebate thing.

Besides the fact you could get nailed for mail fraud, they will check your order number against your address and only mail the one submission if they are feeling generous. Sometimes they won't refund any money back if they feel you are attempting to defraud them.
 
I think they intend to buy two of them on a single receipt, and will submit one rebate for each one bought. But I could be wrong; its happened before.
 
FYI--

rebate form says -- limit 1 rebate per household.

when you go to the web page to check the status,
it asks for the order number and the email.address

So unless you are ordering with different email accounts, I suspect it keys off the order number and e-mail.
 
Was going to order yesterday, but Postmark date is 1/7/07 - a bit too soon for me to take the chance that it will get packaged, shipped and delivered by this friday.

1st gen nano has the shiny aluminum back and only comes in black or white front.
