Archos 20GB USB 2.0 MP3 Jukebox Recorder For $130 Shipped After Rebate

Amazon has the Archos 20 GB USB 2.0 MP3 Jukebox Recorder. Nice budget MP3 player.

1. Amazon Price : $179.88
2. Rebate Price : -$50.00
Final Price : $129.88

Is this worth it??

I purchased the 10 GB last year for $100 from Amazon and returned it because the thing was just a piece of junk. Just turning it on, I would place bets with my friends whether this thing would work or not. Maybe the one I had was just defective. Anyone know if (or own) this 20 GB recorder version? I am thinking of just saving my money for a DELL jukebox.

My friend is going to get me a Dell 20GB Jukebox for $100, don't ask how. ;)

I'll let you know how it is! I can't wait for it. I had my brand new iPod, well not brand new, but I bought it used for $70, 5GB just die on me, so I'm disappointed so I'm going to splurge and go for the Dell for $100. I'll get back to you on how it is.

I almost bought one of these last month, but couldn't justify the price- even if it was 20Gigs. My concern is shock resistance. How well does it stand up to movement? Is it strong enough for jogging? If can handle some heavy movement, I'll seriously consider buying it.

Don't touch this thing - I bought one a little more than a year ago for $260 and all I did last year was to send it back for repair many times (of course in the beginning they did not want to take it). It's really a piece of junk or worse than that. Now it is completely dead again for the same problem and they told me that my warranty expired (after hinting that I might have dropped the unit!!!) !!!

(The main problem was - it could not be turned on or charged!)

So, I would not want it even if it is free.

Ouch, two really bad complaints. I guess I'll definitely stay away from this then.

Also, now that I see what it looks like, my friend has one and it died on him after warranty. He uses it as a paperweight now.
