It's the beginning of the month and I have just written out my bills......:(

Every month more and more is going out and the promise is that amount will keep rising......:ohwell:

We're getting hit from all around....property taxes, tuition, heating, phone, electricity, gas, groceries, etc......it all has risen beyond belief.....:faint:

I'm feeling the squeeze.....are you?

BTW You can keep Bloomberg, he raises my taxes by thousands and plays the hero giving me $400. back.....:mmph: 3rd term? I think not....:28:

Stick a fork in me.....I'm done.....:(

I think everyone is Preco. We are definitely.. It's ridiculous. And another increase to minimum wage next July won't help things. We stopped at McDonald's the other day while we were out and for three VALUE meals, it was $15.83. Not a value in my opinion.
Groceries are climbing and coupons don't help. They keep increasing the amount you have to purchase for the coupon to be valid. Utilities are going up here as well. Gas goes down in price by the barrel, yet we don't see it at the pump. School lunches went up. Here it is now $2 a day for lunch. Breakfast is I think $ 1.85. The kid has to eat breakfast at home. I'm losing money in my 401k.. I could go on forever.

We are feeling it too.....gas is probably our biggest hit right now. It was annoying to see yesterday in the big city that gas was 30 cents cheaper.....I cant believe the price of groceries. Even the price for nursery water has went up!

I am using more coupons, driving less, we are eating out less often and yet we are still just getting by. The price of gas and groceries alone is killing us. I just can't believe how everything is going up. I haven't checked my 401K lately. It would just be too depressing. I wish this economy would turn around. :verysad:

I ride a bike when I can. Most of the places I want to visit I can do on a bike.

I noticed recently Sauve shampoo went from 22oz to 15oz, but the price is the same. Nuts to that.

It is scary, no doubt. I was formerly a mortgage underwriter and when the subprime mortgage business collapsed I lost my job. I have been out of work for a year , when I decided to open up my own daycare business. I thought this would be recession proof however now I am seeing the kids parents get laid off and the first thing they have to do is pull them out of the daycare .

Gas here is 4 bucks a gallon if you can find it, and I am just now noticing that sugar no longer comes in 5 pound bags ... its 4 pounds .... same price .... hmmmmmmmm

My husband actually just got a new job, that pays less, but it's much closer to home, so we will actually come out about the same. (His old job was 49 miles one way... he was spending about a hundred a week just getting to work!

We live in a small, rural town that recently acquired a super Walmart. At first I thought it would be a great thing... finally somewhere less expensive to shop than our tiny Pamida and local grocery store. NOT! This dumb Walmart consistently has the highest prices! I was floored yesterday to find the large Tide I usually buy went from $17.98 to $20.98!:verysad::mad: Their "local" apples are $2.98 a pound, where our local grocery store has them for 88 cents.

What really made me mad is this Walmart recently pulled out the one-hour photo. (the ONLY one within 30 miles!) I complained to the manager that now I officially now have NO reason to shop in her store, and she just smiled and said "have a nice day." :p:mmph:

Thank God for the small town local shops. At least they are trying to help!!

(Sorry, this turned into a Walmart rant, lol. The kids and I joke that their new slogan "Unbeatable Prices" should be "Unbelievable prices". LOL )

I too have noticed that products are smaller and the price is the same. MrsBrady I wish I could find good apples for 88 cents a lb. What frustrates me with produce is the price is sky rocketing, but it's all damaged and bruised. Thank goodness for my dad's apple trees and garden!!. But I still love a great golden delicious!!

I'm glad I live in "apple country" - I can buy local fresh apples in all varieties for $14 a bushel. We have no gas locally, once again. Pain in the rear!

After this last electricity bill I just paid, I pulled my bill out from last year to compare (same period)....

2007 for 30 days 1550kwh usage Total $307.57
Supply @ 9.3652/kwh Delivery 8.0748/kwh

2008 for 32 days 1830kwh usage Total $599.08

The supply has more than doubled in cost!

Total cost with all charges.....

for 2007 - .19/kwh

for 2008 - .32/kwh

This is just horrible.....

I can totally feel everyones pain.
We have a Family of 6 and its getting harder and harder just to feed everyone. We have cut back until I dont know where else to cut from. We dont go out to eat or anywhere much for that matter.
We try to do the "free activites" but then the gas gets ya. I have been hanging up clothes to dry, making our own snacks like homemade cakes and cookies and today I made some pickled eggs. I stopped buying potato chips recently and started getting crackers instead. They make you feel fuller faster and the kids dont understand why.:p lol. Even the Doller Generals Prices have gone up.

I dont think that its gonna get any better. I have the feeling its only going to get worse. I try not to think about it and I hate trying to figure out bills. :worry:

We are slowly slipping back into the "olden" days it seems like. :hmpf:

Agree with all of you. utilities are up, trips to grocery store definitely make a dent in the wallet. Insurances are ridiculous (health, car, etc.). Just keep all of this in mind on November 4th. With making a wrong choice, the taxes will be even higher and everything would be more expensive to close the deficit gap in the long run. Don't let media full you. Make the right choice!

I have to agree with you. I live in a small town as well and of the two grocery stores and Wal-Mart, Wal-Mart is the most expensive. Also the employees there seem to not care if they help you or not. I think I will just stick to my local HEB store.

Pay no attention to that bright orange extension chord running from your garage to the main power circuit of my RV.

I promise to turn of the lights when I leave and not leave the door open so that I can cool down the neighborhood with the A/C.

Please tell me those costs are because you heat and cook with electric as well??? Clearly an outrageous increase~but I am thinking if you add a separate heating bill to that:verysad:......I'd be living in a van by the river if I had to pay that high a bill!!

The government that can give you everything can also take everything away.

Nope, I have a gas stove and gas/hot water and one of my laundry dryers are gas too....:(

I also a few months back changed the light bulbs in the children's rooms and play areas to fluorescent because they leave them on all the time.....
