AT&T, T-mobile, Sprint PCS, Virgin Mobile Cell Phone Deals

Amazon has better prices on phones from AT&T, Cingular, Nextel, Sprint, TracFone, T-mobile, and Virgin Mobile. If you are planning to go with one of those carriers, take a look at Amazon.

Wow! I was about to get a cell phone, but I don't see verizon on there :banghead:

Verizon is the worst. Horribly overrated network, overpriced, but somehow their marketing still gets to the majority of cell phone users.

Keep on mind that on carriers, specifically AT&T, not sure about others, Amazon cannot activate family plans. You have to sign up and get your phones under seperate accounts in your name first and then merge them into a sharable plan, which can be a big mess with the carriers, and can result in many hours on the phone with customer service.

I mostly recommend people to go direct to a carrier's corporate store or website and get it done right. Best customer service, and the prices are still fair.

From Amazons site they say they can not activate any family plans for any carrier. If I was by myself I would go through Amazon because of the sweet deals they have on some of the phones, but it's my wife and I so I don't want the hassle of trying to merge two plans. Plus I'm already a customer of Cingular and I'm not sure how that would work any way.

I just wish our local Cingular outlets had better phone selections. Most of the phones they are carrying at this time stink.

I beg to differ Eric. I use Verizon and they are the BEST in coverage and customer service. I have used Sprint, which was the absolute worst. Dropped calls galore and TERRIBLE customer service. Verizon is overpriced, but you pay for the best. Waht makes you think their network is overrated? I have been all around the US and never not had service availibility. I got service up north in the woods camping here in Michigan, that is un heard of!

Everyone has different opinions though. If you don't mind the money, Verizon is worth it. But since I like to save, I am looking into switching to T-Mobile!

I agree with alshah. I am also a Verizon user and can't be happier. I also recieve a 12% discount via my employer. I tried the following carriers and was extremely unhappy with them:

Bad News carriers
Worldcom Wireless (aka MCI)
Cingular
AT&T

i have the motorolla v710.. the newest available verizon phone.. and im completely satisfied. If you're planning on getting a new phone, and you don't live in a city, or very urban area.. id recommend getting a phone that has "tri-mode" or makes use of analog signal. :)

Ouch, I've heard horror stories about the V710.

I still don't like Verizon, CDMA just doesn't cut it in terms of sound quality, and Verizon's coverage around here at least isn't that great, but everyone is entitled to their opinions.
