This is a dial type.

This kind you have to actually think what time it is. Digital clocks let you know right away but with this dial type you have to figure out what the hands are saying

eh, its more difficult to read the time off of a grandfather that a digital clock too, but people still pay upwards of $10,000 for for grandfather clocks. it may be the style of the clock that some people like, not actually the ease of reading the time off of them.
